BoT & Fusion BFF

Ok, so cheezy title.  But on the other hand, kinda fun.  I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything about uptown events (save my “This week in Saint John” series) for 3 weeks!  So my readers are in for a treat.  This weekend and the weeks to come will be chock-full of socialising & community goodness.

To begin with, last night Fusion hosted another great Party with a Purpose, this time in partnership with the Saint John Board of Trade.   It was sponsored in part by Cracked Canoe, the new 100 calorie beer by Moosehead Breweries, and there was free beer for all those in attendance – a great plus!  It was also hosted in a new and different location for a PwaP, the Saint John Arts Center, fabulous.

Over sandwiches and fresh cut fruit, and surrounded by beautiful paintings, Fusion and Board of Trade members mixed and mingled to talk about Saint John, what’s going on in the city, and how minds and bodies can team up to accomplish great things.  We networked, made plans for more socialising and shared ideas on how Saint John can move forward.  I personnally met lots of great people and learned some new things about what is available in Saint John.

I chatted with Stephen Tobias about the fantatic line-up for next year’s SJTC plays & the work being done on the building on Princess St, I met a great woman who distributes wholesale unprocessed healthy chocolate, and even started recruiting volunteers for this year’s Operation Red Nose (application has been submitted and we await approval)!  I also spent some time with Corazone Funbags (Action Hero Network) talking about the free summer camp program that he is planning to implement this year (more details to come…  I hope to get involved. 🙂

To sum up: I ate, drank and met lots of people for FREE – life is great!

Uptowngirlsj quick tip:  Dress as an iconic actress from the 1960 to a public event and you are bound to attract very interesting people!
