Big Band Bash & Broken Glass

Last minute plans are the greatest, especially when you get to dress up!  Saturday night I found myself squeezed between 3 other girls in the backseat of a Mazda something-or-other on the way to the Big Band Cabaret, a fund-raising event for the Rally of Hope hosted by the great people at Lawson & Creamer.

The event was fun and the location superb.  It was held in the cafeteria at Rothesay Netherwood School, but I have never seen a cafeteria like this!  It is such a grand and beautiful space that it is no wonder some friends of mine have booked it for their wedding reception.  The big band swing music filled the hall and the older attendees put us young folks to shame with their dancing skills (trying though we did to follow their lead).

The cabaret wrapped up around 11 and our car load of revelers sped off to a private party in Quispamsis.  There we were serenaded by ipod playlists, my favorite being the 80’s compilation, served fantastic snacks and drank lethal cosmos.  So lethal in fact that, not long before heading home, my martini glass leaped from my hand and landed with a crash on the kitchen floor. 😦

All in all, a fantastic soiree.
